How do you deal with your mind racing, your fears illuminated in a room that is getting smaller and smaller as the days turn into one never-ending space of time, coloured grey and filled with stress? For years, I used writing as a let-out. Now, my coping mechanism is to take a shower each time life feels too much and not enough. Did you know this harmless activity can result in itchy and bruise prone skin? I do now. This work is about the embodiment of stress, uncertainty, fear, confusion, and loss that came with the challenges of the past year and manifested in an unusual coping mechanism. It is also about finding beauty in all these negative emotions the same way that they can serve as an inspiration for a poem.
