EXPIRED IN 2014

“Do you remember how dad moved out?” I asked my sister recently – and we both realized we have no memories of it. Our psyches erase such events so easily. The truth is – my grandmother divorced my grandfather when my mom was 22. My parents' marital bond expired when my sister was 22. Now I am 22 and I went through a break-up as well. This experimental photo series dissects, juxtaposes and stitches together archival photographs of my parents' relationship into new forms. It is my attempt at finding new meanings and memories in the ruins of my inherited past.
